THEME OF ISSUE 35, JULY - DECEMBER 2026

«Changes in the global geopolitical map: the rise of far-right parties, authoritarian ideologies and nationalisms»

Call for papers issue 35 coordinator:

Dra. Alicia Gutiérrez González (University Anahuac, Mexico)

The journal InterNaciones invites interested parties to submit articles for publication in issue 35, dedicated to reflecting on the growing number of right-wing and far-right political parties worldwide that advocate unilateralism over multilateralism.

The world has changed, and in Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Africa, the far right is resurging with force, leaving liberal democracies threatened by major authoritarian powers. Therefore, from the perspective of International Relations, it is essential to analyze the far-right parties in power globally and explain why these parties have increased in popularity and what factors lead voters to support them.

This issue aims to analyze and discuss the ideology of far-right parties, which can be divided into:

  1. Ultraconservatives rooted in conservative and Christian democratic traditions in countries such as Colombia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, Japan, and Poland, among others.
  2. Authoritarian nationalists, characterized by their rejection of democratic values in countries such as Greece, Hungary, India, Israel, and Russia, to name a few.
  3. Libertarian parties adhering to social liberalism and advocating for tax reductions and individual freedom in countries such as Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Venezuela, and others.
  4. Nativist populists who seek closed borders, the restoration of sovereignty, and reduced immigration, among other things. These groups predominate in countries such as Germany, Denmark, the United Kingdom, the United States, Finland, Italy, and the Netherlands, among others.

Committed to critical reflection on international processes, the journal InterNaciones considers it essential to create an academic space to analyze how the rise of far-right parties is changing the global geopolitical landscape and how growing nationalism is abandoning multilateralism, as well as the values and principles of the International Bill of Human Rights. This issue seeks to contribute to the debate and understanding of the resurgence of far-right parties in Europe, the rise of far-right parties in the Americas, Asia, and Africa, and how nationalism and authoritarianism are on the rise.

We invite academics, researchers, and professionals in general to submit contributions that explore the various lines of research and themes proposed:

  1. Far-right parties in Europe: Analysis of the resurgence of the far right in countries such as Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Spain, France, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, and Poland, among others.
  2. Far-right parties in the Americas (North and Latin America): Analysis of far-right parties in countries such as Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, the United States, and Mexico, among others.
  3. Far-right parties in Asia and Africa: Analysis of far-right parties in countries such as India, Israel, Japan, and South Africa.
